Hello from Moe Hatab, Normandale Moe is now at the U of M, College of Biological Sciences
Normandale is a great place, it is a small community where one person can get to build so many connections and prepare for larger schools. Moreover, it has a great science program and builds great foundations for the students especially premeds.
Clubs.
I would say the best club would be " Preprofessional Student Club", they are good source of information for premeds. Another to join is the Academy of Math and Science, they would provide the student with great variety of information and keep up with him/her.
Advisors.
I only had ONE advisor during my two years at Normandale, Kim Klein. She has been great. Helped me out a lot. Introduced me to the MFD program, Scholarships, volunteer opportunities, kept up with my academics and always discusses academic plans and transfer plans as well.
Jobs on Campus.
I found helpful is tutoring science courses. another one could be working in the biology lab, which would help by being around the faculty and students doing their labs.
Professors.
Joseph McChulloch Ph.D would be one of the great professors I had at Normandale, I took both General Biology classes with him and he is one of the professors who only give you an A if you work hard for it and deserve it. Very helpful and cooperative in and out of class.
Majors.
There aren't really "Majors", a student can do an AA degree with emphasis on chemistry or biology since most of the classes will be science.
What I loved about Normandale.

Ideas from Normandale's Abel Desta:
Why Normandale for pre meds?
Normandale is a great place to get started pre meds
For students we have a dream but are financially handicapped, Normandale is great place to start; here, you get a high quality education from very concerned teachers at a much affordable rate compared to anywhere else.
+ for students who need a smoother transition into college, Normandaledoes just that; it has very small class sizes where students work in groups and you hardly feel overwhelmed or lost in large class sizes as compared to big universities.
What clubs should pre meds join?
NCC STEM and
Pre- professional club
What advisors are great for pre meds?
Kimberly Kline/Academy of math and science
Who are great professors?
Prof Charles Ojala (organic Chemistry) Robert Barni (Gen Bio) Dr. James Erickson (zoology) Dr. rezni cehek
What are majors for pre meds?
Biology, Biochemistry, and you can also finish the pre requites of most science majors.
What else did you love about Normandale?
I loved the fact that you don’t have to go outside of the building during winter. I also loved the fact Normandale has a wide range of diversity. You get to meet people from different parts of the world. It doesn’t matter your background, you are accepted for who you are. Commonalities among students are celebrated while differences are respected between student and faculties.
