2010 - 2011 Academic Year

Sophomore Year:  Introduction to Medicine

• Shadow a physician once a month, you'll be matched with your own - with your hard work and Jo's help. Have you written your shadow match letters and given them to Jo yet?

• Volunteer for various events hosted by Future Docs scholars and do your own volunteering in the community and in medicine.

• Learn how to become an excellent med school applicant by attending fall, winter, and spring event

• Explore complex clinical environments through hospital and medical school tours, as well as case studies in our events

• Meet with Jo to chart your path

• Create a leadership project that fuels your passion for medicine

• Get to know other future docs

• Have a very meaningful pre med summer

2011-2012 Academic Year

Junior Year:   Develop your Application to Med School

• Develop AMCAS 15 experiences through writing workshops and one-on-one coaching with writing consultants (October)

• Write AMCAS personal statement and continue to refine their AMCAS 15 experiences (January)

• Complete their AMCAS (March)

• Prepare for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) and take the MCAT (take the test spring or summer)

Summer Before Senior Year:  AMCAS & MCAT
